Lincoln Boys Soccer Ties Leavitt
The Lincoln Academy boys soccer team tied Leavitt 2-2 on Sept. 9 in stifling 90-degree heat. The Eagles scored with just under three minutes to play to tie Leavitt 2-2 and force overtime. Both teams had opportunities to score in double OT, but the game ended in a 2-2 stalemate.
Medomak Girls Win in Overtime
The Medomak Valley girls soccer team defeated Belfast 2-1 in an overtime thriller Sept. 8 in Belfast. Hallie Kunesh scored with 13 seconds remaining in overtime on a wild scramble in front of the Lions net for the game-winner.
Wiscasset Boys Crush Cobras
The Wiscasset boys soccer team crushed the Cobras 10-0 on the road on Sept. 8. The Wolverines jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead before pumping in seven second-half goals. Russell Marr scored a hat trick and Grant Hefler and Brandon Goud added two goals each to lead Wiscasset’s offense.
Mt. View 6 – Medomak 3
Mt. View defeated Medomak Valley golf 6-3 on Sept. 8. The Panthers shot their best team round of the season with a 198. The Mustangs shot a 181. Three Panthers registered their best scores of the season: Brent Stewart, Carson Murphy, and Mavrick Young.
Blethen and Erhard Pace Seahawks
Boothbay runners took the top spots in Hall-Dale’s home cross-country meet, held at the University of Maine at Augusta on Sept. 7. Faith Blethen won the girls race in 21:33, beating out second-place finisher Destiny Anair by almost two minutes. In the boys race, Blake Erhard led the Seahawks to a first-place finish in 19:18.
