Wiscasset boys basketball team returns with a veteran team, following a year of turmoil that saw four starters leave for a variety of reasons for parts of last season. Last year’s drama gave young players plenty of playing time and hardened them for this season.

Popular baseball coach, and long time freshman basketball coach Ryan Ball, has taken over the helm of the Lincoln Academy varsity boys basketball team this season. Ball brings new energy and a positive spirit to the team.

The Midcoast Maine Equestrian Team, a competitive horseback riding team from Stonewall Stables in Nobleboro that competes in the Interscholastic Equestrian Association, is having another good season.

The fourth seed Lincoln Academy girls soccer team (8-3-3) defended its home turf against fifth seed York (7-5-2) 1-0 Oct. 29 under the lights in Newcastle.

Lincoln Academy will induct six new members into the school’s Sports Hall of Fame on Friday, Nov. 28 during alumni basketball festivities. The awards presentation will take place between games at 6 p.m. in the Nelson Bailey Gymnasium. This is the third annual induction ceremony.
