Lincoln Academy 2013 spring sports awards were presented by individual sports on separate dates.

The Maine Games 5K run will be held at the Medomak Valley High School campus, located on Manktown Road in Waldoboro on Saturday, June 22 at 9 a.m.

The Lincoln County Assembly of God Church in Damariscotta held an Around the World 5K road race walk/run on Saturday and raised about $1000 to support Jan Wood’s mission to Uganda.

The Lincoln Academy softball team won the 2013 West Class B Good Sportsmanship Award. “I have always said this award is more impressive than winning a state championship, so we should be very proud of this award,” athletic director KJ Anastasio said.

Four Lincoln County baseball and softball teams have qualified for post season play.

Great Salt Bay School won the Busline Southern Division championship, and Medomak Middle School baseball the Northern Division championships.

Medomak Valley boys scored 8 points, Lincoln Academy boys two, and Lincoln girls three at the State Class B track and field meet in Bath on Saturday. Waterville boys and girls won the state team title. Six new State records were set at the meet.

Gardiner softball defeated Medomak Valley 8-4 Thursday in Gardiner in an East Class B playoff game.

Jessie Vander of Boothbay Region High School won the State Class C shot put and placed second in the discus.

Carrabec softball rallied for six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to come from behind to beat Wisasset in West Class C preliminary action.

Falmouth defeated Lincoln Academy girls tennis team 5-0 in the West Class B quarterfinals on Saturday in Falmouth.

Lincoln Academy boys tennis players Jordan Friedland and Brandon Blake advance to the State tournament.

Lincoln Academy softball defeated Medomak Valley 4-2 on May 30.

Gardiner jumped out to a 5-0 lead after three innings in their 7-4 win over the Panthers on Friday.
