With the increasing popularity of stand up paddleboards, the Sheepscot River Race, on Saturday, July 6 at 10 a.m. will have categories for under 12-foot and over 12-foot Paddleboards this year.

The American Legions won the Lincoln Little League championship on May 13 at Great Salt Bay School in Damariscotta. The Legions jumped out to a 6-0 lead then held off the Rotary Wheels in late innings to win 8-4. Starting pitcher Andrew Greenleaf collected the win.

The Storer Lumber Diamondbacks defeated the Dow Furniture Fillies 9-0 on Saturday to win the Waldoboro Little League softball championship. Lydia Simmons pitched a no hit shutout in the win (9K,5B). Gabby DePatsy took the loss (6H,0K,6B).

Lincoln Academy softball defeated Spruce Mountain 10-1 Tuesday afternoon in the West Class B preliminaries to advance to the quarterfinals.

Medomak Valley High School’s baseball team won the 2013 Eastern Maine Class B Sportsmanship Award.
