Newcastle Babe Ruth defeated Waldoboro 4-1 in a classic pitcher’s duel Tuesday night in Bristol. Stephen Quinlan (3H, 3K, 1B) collected the win in six innings of work and Brandon Reilly (3K) the save. Buddy Simmons took the loss for Waldoboro (6H, 6B, 3K).

Lincoln 11 And 12 Softball Mercy Waldoboro
Lincoln County 11 and 12 softball all-stars defeated Waldoboro 15-0 by a four inning mercy ruling Monday night in Camden. Danielle Pinkham pitched a two hitter in the win. “She pitched a gem,” coach Roy Molt said. Molt said the shutout was a “testament to our defense as well.”

Medomak Valley’s softball team settled for the State Class B runner-up trophy for the second straight year. Fryeburg won the State Class B softball re-match with Medomak Valley on Saturday 2-1 in eight innings at St. Joseph’s College in Standish.
Pendleton Steps Away From 20 Year Coaching Career
Lincoln Academy lost another coach this week, 20-year veteran Clyde Pendleton. Pendleton announced his retirement after the softball spring awards. He has coached varsity softball for eight years. He also coached girls’ basketball for 12 years including varsity for four years and JV for eight.

Bobtails Win Waldoboro LL Softball Crown
The Bobtails won the Waldoboro Little League softball championship on Saturday, beating the Diamondbacks 8-6. Walks and passed balls were the name of the game.
