Lincoln Academy track athletes Nikki Leeman, 18, and Jian Giglia, 17, traveled to Atlantic City, N.J., to compete in their first official marathon recently. The athletes paced themselves in the 26.2 miles race and finished together in four hours, six minutes.
Medomak Cross Country Teams Qualify For States Gould Named KVAC Coach Of The Year
For the third straight year, both the boys’ and girls’ cross country teams at Medomak Valley High School have qualified for the State Class B championship race. Medomak girls placed fifth and the boys sixth at the East B Regionals held in Belfast Oct. 31.
MVHS Basketball Ticket Prices
Admission to Medomak Valley High School basketball games will be $3 for adults, $2 for students, and free for children under 12. Season passes are $27 for an adult, and $72 for a family.
Leeman And Ward Qualify For State Class B Cross Country Meet
Lincoln Academy runners Mary Leeman and Gary Ward placed in the top 20 at the West Class B Regional Cross Country championships on Oct. 31 in Cumberland to qualify for the State Class B meet to be held on Sat., Nov. 7 at Twin Brook in Cumberland. Race times for Class B are 12:15 p.m. and 1 p.m.
Bristol Basketball Clinic Wraps Up
A six-week basketball clinic in Bristol wrapped up Nov. 3 with an intersquad scrimmage. A special highlight of the evening for the young players was donning Lincoln Academy jerseys.

Wiscasset Girls’ Soccer Team Picks Up Second Win
Wiscasset girls’ soccer team picked up their second win of the season Monday at Monmouth.
Alli Preble scored the game’s only goal on a pass from Haley Grant. Grant took the ball down the wing and passed through to Preble, who found net from a shot at the 18-yard mark.
Monmouth held a 13-12 advantage in shots. Abbie Austin made nine saves in net for the Lady Redskins to ear the shutout.
Waltz Wraps Up UMF Golf Season
The University of Maine at Farmington men’s and women’s golf team recently completed its 2009 season with a third-place finish at the North Atlantic Conference Championships at Penobscot Valley Country Club in Orono on Oct. 12.

The first annual Pumpkinfest Fun Run had only nine participants, but they came in spirit, dressed in orange shirts, orange hats, faces painted and one, Tammy Schiavi, came dressed in costume.
