Come and build your own pumpkin boat racer or watch the intrepid boat builders transform a giant pumpkin into a seaworthy vessel.
The rules are “there are no rules and no fouls, other than that the pumpkin needs to float and needs to go really fast”! Described as the “extreme sport of gardening,” this real-life jack-in-the- beanstalk sport has been seen by over 30,000 fans. Visitors have flocked to Damariscotta to watch giant gourds -steered by captains either paddling or powered by “wicked nice motors”- ply the waters of the Damariscotta River.

Misfit Love Day is our annual fundraiser for Apifera Farm, a 501[c][3] which takes in elder/special needs animals, but also shares them with elder people. It is a celebration of the healing powers of animals and a way to share our respect for all elder creatures be it animal or human.
The many Misfits that call Apifera home will be wandering about-the kissing llama, the grumpy pig [I guarantee she will be sleeping], pigs, old goats, and Paco the Poet, Pino, Old Matilda and Lucia [the donkeys]. Opie and Ollie might perform, Moose and Goose might…jump on rocks.
PLEASE DO NOT BRING PETS [they will not be allowed in]. All children must be chaperoned. Visit the blog for more info
