On Saturday Dec. 22 will be “A Christmas Story” (PG). Set in the 1940’s, nine-year-old Ralphie wants one thing for Christmas — an official Red Ryder BB rifle. When his mother, teacher, and even Santa tells him “You’ll shoot your eye out,” Ralph fears that he’ll never get the BB gun, but there may be a surprise in store for him.

St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church will hold our Christmas Pageant as part of the 4:00 p.m. Monday, December 24 Christmas Eve Service at the church on Glidden Street in Newcastle. If you have kids or grandchildren who would like to join in, we would love to include them. All ages are welcome, infants through teenagers! The single practice will be held in the sanctuary on Saturday, December 22, 10:00 a.m. through noon, when we will hand out parts and costumes, then walk through the pageant twice, finding a place for each child to shine. No memorization is required for this simple, yet lovely annual telling of the Christmas story as found in the Book of Luke, and featuring carols sung by the congregation. If possible, please contact Director of
Choirs Linda Blanchard before the practice at lindamaine@mac.comor 380-2768 to let her know your child’s age and preferred part.
