Advance discounted tickets $15. Regular tickets $20. Portland, Maine based musician Seth Warner will lead an All-Star band in a complete live performance of Neil Young’s much loved 1972 record Harvest .
What is it about this record that catapulted Neil Young to international prominence and the LP to become the best selling album of the year and an instant classic? Is it the decidedly country and organic acoustic flavors? The moments of symphonic grandeur and electric grit hewn together? The laid back and intimate Nashville vibe from his backing band “The Stray Gators”? Many longtime fans could rightly argue that it is not Neil Young at his most consistent nor his best matched collection of songs – but even so, it seems to be a product of perfect timing and an album truly of its time and Seth and his friends look to celebrate all of the elements that contribute to the mystery, beauty and underlying joy of Harvest at The Opera House.
Prior to featuring the record in its entirety the band and special guests will begin the evening with a set of acoustic Neil Young
material selected from the course of his entire career. Joining Seth in the band will be pedal steel guitarist Dan Beller-McKenna, bassist Scott Elliot, featured vocalist, Susanne Gerry, pianist Marc McElroy and drummer Marty Joyce.
