Ocean on Tap is an informal, ocean-centric speaker series organized by researchers from the Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences and hosted by Footbridge Brewery in Boothbay Harbor. Our goal is to bring people of the community together over the fascinating world of the ocean. At these events, speakers will share their corner of expertise in the ocean, and attendees are encouraged to ask questions.
The next Ocean on Tap event will take place on April 18th from 6-7pm at Footbridge Brewery. Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences researchers Dr. Yasmina Shah Esmaeili and Shane Farrell will be speaking about how they study Maine’s kelp forests and bringing some of the special gear they use to do so.

One of our all-time favorite Maine bands brings their Van Morrison show to the House tonight. They brought Van’s music to us during our 2023 season and the audience proclaimed that it was even better than actually going to see Van Morrison himself! We promise an incredible evening for fans of the legendary performer – nope, we don’t have the man on stage but we have the next best thing! Advance discount tickets $20, available only from the box office at 207-633-5159 (open Wed – Fri from 10-2). Regular tickets $25 online at boothbayoperahouse.com, and on the day of show if available.
