Join us in the Farmhouse Kitchen as we learn to assemble a cheese board from the bottom up, just in time for the holidays. In this two part workshop, you will start by tasting and pairing cheese. In the second part you will learn how to care and maintain a wooden cheese board.
Cheesemaker Allison Lakin of Lakin’s Gorges Cheese will guide you through cheese selection and food pairing to assemble a cheese board for your holiday table. From fresh cheese to blue, we will learn some cheese science, hear some great stories, and taste some amazing cheese. Bring your cheese questions as we learn to go beyond the cheese cube.
Then, Neal Foley of Foley’s Custom Sawmill will teach you how to maintain a wooden cheese board. You will be able to choose from a selection of boards made from sustainably harvested wood and, after conditioning the boards, get to take one home with you.
Cost: $50 includes tasting and a wooden cheese board
Location: East Forty Farm and Dairy, 2361 Friendship Road (Rte 220 South), Waldoboro ME
