It is with Christian love and sorrow we announce the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Elizabeth Lindsey Ogburn, 93. She died of natural causes July 29, 2019, at her home in Tallahassee, Fla.

For “Roger Dale Brown: Around Town,” his first solo show at Gleason Fine Art in Boothbay Harbor, Roger Dale Brown, one of the U.S.’s foremost marine painters, chose to focus on Boothbay Harbor and the surrounding villages, including Southport, East Boothbay, Pemaquid, and Port Clyde.

Allan Johannes Laukka, 87, of Honeycomb Circle, Swannanoa, N.C., died peacefully on Aug. 13, 2019 at Maine Medical Center following a brief illness. His loving family was by his side.

I read with interest the Aug. 15 front-page story on the hundreds of people buried in unmarked graves in Gardiner, Pittston, and surrounding towns, and that many were from the Old Men’s Camp in Jefferson. It brought back memories of when I served on the St. Denis Cemetery Committee in Whitefield. Serving with me were Jane Hellegers and Edith Manley, both now deceased.
