Joyce Marie Jackson, of Abbot, passed away on July 23 at her home in the loving arms of her husband, Donald R. Prior. They were married on July 2, 1988.
Damariscotta Receives Grant for YMCA Pre-K Program
The town of Damariscotta was recently awarded a $50,000 community development block grant for a private, onsite pre-kindergarten program at the Central Lincoln County YMCA. The implementation of the program at the Y will be a new and expanded service to meet the need for full-day childcare and pre-K programs.
Washburn & Doughty Receives $600,000 Grant
U.S. Sen. Susan Collins, the chairman of the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee, announced Washburn & Doughty Associates, Inc., of East Boothbay has been awarded $618,750 through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration’s Small Shipyard Grant Program.

Angela A. Wellman, of Edgecomb, was granted a divorce from Larry B. Wellman, of Waldoboro, on May 25. They were married in Waldoboro on Sept. 10, 2011. Shared parental rights of one minor child. Name changed to Angela Ann Guptill.
Ann Swett Oct. 12, 1926 - July 25, 2018
Ann Swett was born on Oct. 12, 1926, in Berwyn, Penn., and died on July 25 in Concord, N.H. She was the daughter of the late Isabel Hamill Parkhurst and Henry Williams Parkhurst and younger sister of the late Henry Williams Parkhurst Jr.
More Than 3,000 Free Summer Meals Served
With 14 meals sites total, including five new sites, the free summer meals program has served over 3,000 healthy meals to children so far this summer. The program, which is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Department of Education, and locally by Healthy Lincoln County, aims to feed all children while on summer vacation from school.
