A celebration life for Eileen Guthrie, of Walpole, who passed away on Jan. 18, will be held from 1-4 p.m., Sun., June 10 at the Gendron Franco Center, 46 Cedar St., Lewiston. Rosie Wilt passed away early on the morning of May 25. She was at Cove’s Edge where she was lovingly cared for by her family and the Cove’s Edge staff.

Dorothy B. Church, 93, died peacefully at Cove’s Edge in the early morning of May 16. Dot was born Nov. 27, 1924 in Hartford, Conn., the daughter of Author Hill Brooks and Martha (Youngerman) Brooks.
Evelyn P. Blake Feb. 11, 1929 - May 21, 2018
Evelyn P. Blake, 89, of Southport, died peacefully on May 21 at Maine Medical Center, after a long battle with dementia. Evelyn was born to Cecil Pierce and Lucy (Gaudette) Pierce of Southport, on Feb. 11, 1929.
Historical Society’s New Calendar Features Numerous Ships
The Waldoborough Historical Society listened to members of the community who requested that its next calendar show more ships. The society is pleased to announce that with the assistance of Laurie McBurnie, of Lincoln County Publishing Co., the newest 18-month calendar for 2019-2020 is ready for sale.
Damariscotta Mills Fish Ladder Restoration Festival is May 26
The alewives are running and festivities are planned to celebrate this awesome natural event and the restoration of the stone fish ladder, which the fish climb to spawn in fresh water Damariscotta Lake. This year’s festival – one day only – will be held on Saturday, May 26 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The festival may be only one day this year, but what a day it will be! As always, the fish will be the main event — it will be possible to view alewives by the fish house, along the fish ladder, in the Williams backyard, and at the top of the ladder.
