Elmer Tarr, according to his wife, Gerry, “loved everybody, and everybody loved him.” In his 87 years of life from 1916 to 2003, Tarr loved his community and was very active in enriching the lives of others in Bristol and beyond. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II, built houses, served with and led the Masonic Lodge, became a Bristol Lion, and shared his skills with the Shriners, the Bristol Footlighters, and Habitat for Humanity, to name a few of his many interests in addition to raising a family with his wife.

Kick off yard sale season at the Central Lincoln County YMCA in Damariscotta! The Lincoln County Publishing Co. is teaming up with the Y to host the Lincoln County Yard Sale, a huge indoor yard sale, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 5. Admission is free.

CLC Y’s Healthy Living Center, Raised Track, Offices Now Open
The Central Lincoln County YMCA in Damariscotta opened its new and expanded Healthy Living Center, new raised track, and updated offices this past Monday. Group exercise offerings have expanded to more than 60 classes, as well as to the personal training program. In addition, offices are now open for the CEO, the Healthy Living director, FARMS at the Y, the community and youth outreach coordinator, and the membership and marketing director.

Registration for Little League Challenger Division Coming Up
Although it may not feel like it, summer is right around the corner, and with it comes the 2018 Lincoln Little League Challenger Division season. Registration for the season will take place Sundays, June 3 and June 10 at the Central Lincoln County YMCA, at 525 Main St. in Damariscotta.
