Joanne Johnston, 86, of Jefferson, passed away on the evening of Feb. 27 at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta. Born on April 11, 1931 in Cambridge, Mass., she was the daughter of Charles and Hazel Vose, and the wife of the late Erland Johnston.

Legion 99th Birthday Celebration

The Wells-Hussey American Legion Post 42, of Damariscotta, will host an American Legion 99th birthday party Sunday, March 18 at noon. A free birthday dinner will be served at 1 p.m. The dinner will include ham, macaroni and cheese, peas, rolls, and birthday cake.
