The DaPonte String Quartet’s second series of the season takes listeners on a stroll through Vienna, home to the world’s oldest amusement park, the Prater, in company with some of the Austrian capital’s most powerful musical prodigies, Joseph Haydn, Alban Berg, and Ludwig van Beethoven. “A Stroll in the Prater” will have five performances, from March 18-25, in Damariscotta, Portland, Rockport, Boothbay Harbor, and Brunswick.

Dow Reminds Constituents to Search Unclaimed Property List, Claim Money
Sen. Dana Dow, R-Waldoboro, announced on Thursday, Jan. 25 the addition of $11.6 million to Maine’s Unclaimed Property Fund. This property consists of financial assets that have gone unclaimed by their owners. The last known owner’s information is now available at maine.gov/unclaimed. In total, the Office of the State Treasurer has more than $241 million of unclaimed property.

State Dismisses Charges of Sexual Abuse Against Former Deputy
Former Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Kenneth L. Hatch III will not face a second trial on 20 felony counts of sexual abuse and giving drugs to minors, but is unlikely to work in law enforcement again under the terms of a plea deal reached Friday, Jan. 26.
