Local Homelessness Prevention Group Receives Award
The Ecumenical Council on Homeless Prevention was honored by Tedford Housing on Thursday evening, June 14, with the Tedford Home Award for the council’s work in homeless prevention.
Downeast Supper at Dutch Neck
The Midcoast area isn’t traditional Downeast, but the upcoming supper at the Dutch Neck Schoolhouse in Waldoboro isn’t a traditional bean supper, either. Members of the public are encouraged to break with tradition on Thursday, June 29 to enjoy a wonderful supper in what was once a one-room schoolhouse. Attendees can visit the historic St. Paul’s Union Chapel before or after supper.

Call for Entries for ‘The Garden Show’ Art Show
The Kefauver Studio & Gallery in Damariscotta is calling for artists to participate in “The Garden Show” art show, which will run from July 28 through Aug. 13. This show will depict the Midcoast’s most beautiful blossoms and gardens, so submitted works should be in keeping with that theme.

Planning Underway for Community Cares Day
The Community Housing Improvement Project Inc. Community Cares Day will take place Saturday, Sept. 9. While CHIP Inc. is busy throughout the year addressing people’s housing and emergency heating needs, this is the special day when 100 or more volunteer workers spend the day working on about 10 projects around Lincoln County helping make the homes of neighbors in need safer, warmer, and drier.
Live Edge Music Festival Coming to HVNC

Castlebay to Perform at Bremen Historical Society Meeting
On Sunday, June 25 at 6 p.m. at the historic Bremen Town House on Route 32 in Bremen, Castlebay will present “Bygone Ballads,” a program of traditional songs from Maine, including some from Bremen and Bristol history. This special performance is free of charge and will follow the Bremen Historical Society business meeting and community potluck dinner.
