Thomas C. Buchanan
Thomas C. Buchanan, 89, of Bristol, passed away on the morning of Aug. 3 at the Sussman House in Rockport. Born on Oct. 16, 1928 in Beaver, Penn., he was the son of the late Thomas and Juliet (Bradford) Buchanan, and the husband of Margaret “Peggy” Buchanan.

Kigel’s 20th Annual ‘Eastern Views’ in Waldoboro
This August, Waldoboro artist Jean Kigel celebrates two decades of exhibiting paintings of Maine and the Far East. These annual exhibitions began in Tenants Harbor, transitioned to Damariscotta, and ultimately came to Waldoboro. This year’s event showcases Kigel’s newest paintings on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Aug. 10, 11, and 12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
High-Speed Chase Through Three Towns Ends in Arrest
A high-speed chase from Route 27 in Boothbay to Route 1 in Wiscasset, with damage to multiple vehicles and speeds of up to 100 mph, resulted in the arrest of a 19-year-old Boothbay Harbor man on Thursday, Aug. 2.

This past week we had beautiful cool evenings, which was perfect sleeping weather for the second week of July. It also made ideal working weather to work in our flower and vegetable garden. Everything is in full bloom and growing very well.
