Medomak Valley girls soccer team picked up a big win over Gardiner, 1-0 on September 27. Cassie Smeltzer scored on a breakaway 10 minutes in the game to net the game winner. Chelsea Ripley made four saves to preserve the shutout.

Medomak Valley defeated Gardiner 3-2 in overtime on Sept. 27 in Waldoboro. Zidane McMurrin scored on a Cam Hopkins pass three minutes into the game. Gardiner’s Garrett Lunt tied the score nine minutes into the second half to force overtime. Adam Eutsler scored 50 seconds into overtime on a long through pass from Joey Horovitz.

Due to wet conditions and the threat of additional rain, Friday’s dedication ceremony for the John Bowers baseball field at Lincoln Academy has been postponed. The dedication event will take place the beginning of the 2017 baseball season in the spring of 2017.
