Wiscasset girls soccer team picked up their second win of the season, 2-1 over Mt.Valley on Oct. 4 in the Wolverines den. Cara Viele gave Wiscasset a 1-0 lead when she collected a pass from Latisha Wright and floated in a 20 yard boot. Mt.Valley tied the score 20 seconds later on a shot from Sophie Ladd. Wright scored the game winner with 1:02 remaining in the first half when she walked in a cross from Eliza Paradis.

Maranacook Clips Eagles 1-0 KVAC boys soccer action
Maranacook boys soccer team clipped Lincoln Academy 1-0 under the lights in the Eagles nest on Oct. 3. Coleman Watson scored the game winner for the Black Bears on a feed from Eli Hopkins less than three minutes into the contest. Lincoln defense held Maranacook scoreless over the final 77 minutes.
Oceanside Grounds Eagles in LA Homecoming Field Hockey Action Oceanside 4 - Lincoln 0
After a scoreless first half, Oceanside netted four second half goals to win 4-0 over the Eagles on Sept. 28 at Lincoln Academy’s Homecoming. Collette Black scored two goals and had an assist, and Grace Young and Emma Young added a goal each, and Vandrielei-Barcelos and Amanda Frost an assist each.

Medomak Boys Beat Eagles at LA Homecoming Medomak 2 - Lincoln 1
Medomak Valley boys soccer team robbed the Eagles nest for a 2-1 win on Sept. 28 during Lincoln Academy’s Homecoming. Zach Cheesman converted a penalty kick, called for a hand ball in the penalty area to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead with 14:06 to go in the half. Parker Morrison collected a blocked shot off an Eagle defender and put it in the lower corner for a 2-0 Medomak lead with two minutes left in the half.

The Lincoln Academy Homecoming parade rode through the Twin Villages Friday night to kick off Homecoming festivities.
Leavitt Wins KVAC Golf Shootout September 27
Leavitt won the KVAC golf Shootout on Sept. 26 at Rockland Golf Course. The top seed Hornets tried to get the playoff match changed to a different date because of difficulties getting a bus. They were told the championship was going on as scheduled, so scrambled and arrived in Rockland with a few minutes to spare. The lack of warm-up time did not impact their game as they shot a team round 175 to beat out nearest competitor Waterville with a 186. Medomak and Belfast shot 189’s.
Soccer Officiating Going High-Tech
Midcoast Board soccer official Stephen Peats says the use of high-tech communication systems by officials is the wave of the future. Peats has been using a “comm system” for four or five years. He estimates that 10% of high school soccer officials now use the system and about 50% of college officials.

Medomak Valley boys soccer team ended Mt.View’s two year KVAC win streak with a 1-0 win in the Panthers den on Sept. 25. Zach Cheesman ran onto a Brandon Starr pass and put it in at the far post five minutes into the contest. The Panthers defense shut the Mustangs down. Will Smith held Mt.View’s leading scorer Elijah Allen in check throughout the game.

Waterville boys soccer team robbed the Eagles nest for a 2-1 win on Sept. 25. After a scoreless first half, Chris Williams converted a second half penalty kick. Declan Murphy gave the Panthers a 2-0 lead. The Eagles scored with under a minute to play. Levi Farrin ran onto a Jack Duncan pass and drove it to the back of the net.
Tuesday, September 24 Games Postponed Make-up date Wed., Sept. 25
Due to the impending storms, Lincoln Academy has moved their boys and girls soccer games vs. Waterville to Wed., September 25. The boys will play home at 3:30 p.m., and the girls away at 3:30 p.m.
