Live Well, the fifth and final issue of Lincoln County Magazine for 2019, will hit newsstands later this month with local copies of The Lincoln County News.

Over 300 people turned out for Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust’s annual membership celebration on July 17, the first all-members event since the unification of the Damariscotta River Association and the Pemaquid Watershed Association last March.

The Maine Commission for Community Service is seeking nominations for all categories of the annual Governor’s Awards for Service and Volunteerism. The goal of these awards is to celebrate and honor the exemplary work and leadership of Maine’s dedicated citizens of all ages.

Brightly colored pot buoys bob in the ocean all along the Maine coast. Each fisherman’s buoys have a unique color scheme. Visit the S Road School on Route 129 in South Bristol on Saturdays in August from 1-4 p.m. and step back a few years to the time when buoys were carved from wood rather than the Styrofoam creations that began to be used in the 1960s. The old wooden buoys varied in shape as well.

Morgan Mayo was the loving granddaughter of Ernest and Florence Bourgon, of Damariscotta. She was a kind, giving, selfless soul that sadly succumbed to her addiction on June 12 of this year.

The Lincoln County Quilters were honored on Thursday, July 25 at Willow Grange No. 366 in Jefferson. Seven members of the quilting group were presented with the 2019 Spirit of America Award for their Quilts of Gratitude project.
