Newcastle Man Sentenced On Federal Firearms Charges
United States Attorney Paula D. Silsby announced that Kurt F. Martin, 54, of Newcastle, was sentenced on February 1, 2010, in U.S. District Court in Bangor, to 15 months imprisonment, three years supervised release, and a $100 special assessment, for the federal crime of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has downgraded the forecast for Lincoln County regarding a storm expected to visit the area beginning late Tues. afternoon and evening. A Winter Storm Watch issued Mon. was downgraded on Tues. morning to a Winter Weather Advisory, and forecast snowfall totals slid drastically from 4 to 8 inches down to 1 to 3 inches, according to the NWS. Areas south of Lincoln County are still under a Winter Storm Watch.
