DRA to Host Bird Walk in Search of Northern Shrike
A predatory songbird that feeds on small birds, mammals, and insects, the northern shrike is known for its unusual habit of impaling its prey on thorns or barbed wire to save for later. Naturalist Sarah Gladu, of Damariscotta River Association, will be leading a walk on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 1-2:30 p.m. in hopes of spotting northern shrike, which often visit the area this time of year after breeding in taiga and tundra farther north.

It is intended for those who find themselves alone on that day. There are those who, for whatever reason, have no relatives, children, or neighbors to visit that day. This dinner is for them!
Good Supply Teams Up with Which Way Wreaths
The Good Supply in Pemaquid will open its restored post-and-beam barn for holiday shopping on Saturday, Nov. 24 and Sunday, Nov. 25 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Opening day marks Small Business Saturday, and The Good Supply will partner with Alna-based small business owner Rachel Alexandrou, of Which Way Wreaths, to host a wreath and garland pickup event.
