Imagine an aquaculture product that could solve today’s biggest food supply challenges. It would be rich in essential nutrients, grow quickly, and require minimal natural resources. While such a product sounds improbable, scientists, chefs, and industry leaders are discovering that sea greens like kelp offer all these amazing attributes.

Willow Grange, on Washington Road in Jefferson, will host its second supper of the summer Saturday, July 28 from 4:30-6 p.m. The supper will include two kinds of baked beans, macaroni and cheese, hot dogs, assorted salads, homemade rolls and biscuits, and pies.

On Monday, July 23 at 7:30 p.m., the Friends of Colonial Pemaquid group will continue its 2018 Monday-night lecture series with an evening program titled “Not Just a Man’s World: Women Pirates of the 18th Century,” presented by James L. Nelson.
