The alewives are running and an array of festivities are planned to celebrate this awesome natural event and the restoration of the stone fish ladder, which the fish climb to spawn in the fresh water of the Damariscotta Lake.
Whitefield Library to Open May 18 with Ice Cream Social, Story Hour
The Whitefield Library & Community Center, at 1 Arlington Lane in Whitefield, will open its doors for the season on Saturday, May 18th at 10 a.m. with an ice cream social and a children’s story hour from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Flood Resilience, Hazard Mitigation on Tap for May 15 Event

‘Plogging’ at Elmer Tarr Event on April 27
The word “plogging” comes from the Swedish “plokka upp” (pick up) plus “jogging.” Thanks to the Lincoln Area Community Fundraising Organization at Lincoln Academy, the first plogging event in Lincoln County will take place on Saturday, April 27 in conjunction with the Elmer Tarr Bristol Roadside Cleanup.
