Cynthia Lee Pepper, 61, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., formerly of Nobleboro, passed away Dec. 5, 2017 after a battle with a very rare form of cancer. Her passing was peaceful and she was surrounded by all of her children.

James Birger Watson, of Queensland, Nova Scotia, Canada, died from complications of pneumonia Nov. 26.

Bettie Marie Simmons, 89, spent her final days surrounded by loving family and passed away peacefully on Nov. 15 at Cove’s Edge nursing home in Damariscotta after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

Mark Hamilton, 70, of Walpole, passed away on the evening of Nov. 26 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Diane Jensen Service Announcement

A memorial service for Diane Jensen, of Damariscotta, who died Oct. 1, will be held at 1 p.m., Sun., Dec. 2 in the Porter Meeting Hall of Skidompha Library in Damariscotta. The Rev. Erika Hewitt, of the Midcoast Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, will officiate. Diane was a member of the congregation and frequently attended with her companion dog, Myers.

Peter W. Sparks, 60, of Dresden, passed away at his home on Nov. 19. He was born on Oct. 7, 1958 in Gardiner to Alton “Rit” and Patricia Sparks.

David Fielding West, 85, of Bremen, passed away at his home on Nov. 24, one day shy of his 86th birthday. Born in Englewood, N.J. on Nov. 25, 1932, he was the son of Herbert and Inez (Gower) West.

Lee B. Stoddard March 11, 1937 - Nov. 20, 2018

Lee B. Stoddard, 81, of Boothbay Harbor, passed away Nov. 20 after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born March 11, 1937 to Helen (Hardwick) and Kenneth E. Stoddard on the kitchen table of his family home in Boothbay.

Claretta I. Gear, 94, of Jefferson, passed away at her home on the evening of Nov. 22. Born in Pueblo, Col. on Dec. 3, 1923, she was the daughter of Findley and Inez (Livingston) Getts.
