Ronald Wey Barend, 66, of Waldoboro, died Dec. 16, 2013, at Togus Veterans Center in Augusta.

Carolyn Marie Foster, 63, passed away peacefully on Jan. 11 at the Gregory Wing in Boothbay Harbor with her loving family by her side.

Irene Brookings, 89, longtime resident of Alna, passed away on the morning of Jan. 5 at Country Manor in Coopers Mills.

Merrill R. Hutchins, 80, of Washington, passed away peacefully at Maine Medical Center in Portland on Jan. 19.

Russell V. Grant, 80, of Boothbay, died Dec. 22 at LincolnHealth – Miles Campus in Damariscotta.

Frances Bryant, 99, of Burlington, Mass., passed away peacefully at her home on Dec. 13.

Ozro Irving Benner, passed away peacefully on Dec. 23 after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Damariscotta, he lived his entire life in the midcoast area.

Fred F. Scherer died at Valley Cares in Townshend, Vt., on Nov. 25, surrounded by family and friends.

Pauline “Polly” Crook was born on Jan. 2, 1932, at 1 Fish Point in Pemaquid Beach. She passed away in the early morning hours of Dec. 20 in that same house, 81 years later, once all of her four children were there.

Cicely Aikman Scherer died at Valley Cares in Townshend, Vt. on Dec. 6, 11 days after her husband Fred F. Scherer passed away.

Gail K. Whittier, 68, of Union, died at her home the morning of Dec. 19.

Lewis Hewett Jones, 79, died on Dec. 7 at his home after a long illness.

Elizabeth Grace Saunders, 66, of Warren, passed away at Windward Gardens in Camden on Dec. 18.
