This is the time to gather around the table and truly appreciate what we have.

Let’s give thanks that we live in this great country, where food is plentiful, and a fresh meal is usually only a trip to the local grocery store away.

Congratulations to all the Newcastle voters that took the time to make decisions about who they believe would best represent them in the county, state and national governments.

I am honored by the trust the people of Maine have placed in me. During my years of service in the United States Senate, I have always been guided by the best traditions of the State of Maine: independence, moderation, and hard work.

There is no easy answer, as some might have you believe, to Maine’s healthcare problem. For someone to say that one plan or idea would fix the situation simply shows there is not an understanding of the depth of the issues here in Maine or in this country.

The Bristol Consolidated School Playground Committee is proud to thank Chris and Heather Leeman for their amazing and incredibly generous idea and then offer to raffle off a Garden Shed built with their own hands.

Most legislators would agree that Dirigo is not sustainable in its current form.

In Waldoboro, some folks want to do away with town meeting, which is a time-honored mainstay of the democratic process.

I have known Les Fossel for 20 years and can assure you he is a very honest dependable, compassionate person.
