Natashia Garber, of Newcastle, set a new Oxford Mud Drag record in Class 2 Fast Track on Sept. 12. Garber drove the 300-foot track in 4.101 seconds to break the record. She won first place in the event in a modified 1979 Jeep CJ.

Lincoln Academy girls soccer team defeated Leavitt 1-0 Friday night under the lights in Newcastle, Sophie Cohen scored the game winner with a second half penalty kick, called after Chloe Hallowell was plowed over in the penalty box.
Lincoln boy soccer lost 2-1 at Leavitt in overtime on a penalty kick.
Plourde Wins Janet Drouin Memorial Overall and Amateur Titles
Bailey Plourde, of Newcastle, came away with a double victory at the WMSGA Janet Drouin Memorial Golf Tournament, held at Natanis on August 17 and 18. Plourde was crowned the overall championship and was the Junior Amateur Champion as well.
Leach Competes at National Wrestling Tournament
Medomak Valley High School senior Rayanne Leach jumped at the chance to compete at the Cadet/Junior National Freestyle Wrestling Championships in Fargo, N.D. The 16-year-old flew with her Maine Trappers team to wrestle in the tournament held at the Fargodome on July 17-23.

Snell Hired as Medomak’s First Varsity Football Coach
Medomak Valley High School athletic director Matt Lash announced this week that Ryan Snell has been hired as Medomak Valley High School’s first varsity football coach. Snell is no stranger to the Medomak Youth Football program, having led the grade 9 to 12 team for the past three years.
