Oceanside took two games from Medomak 10&11 Little League baseball all-stars in the District 2 championship series to earn a berth in the State tournament.

Two years ago, while preparing for the Senior Games, Jeannie Davis and Dick Dunphey put their heads together, did the necessary research, and organized the sport of pickleball at the CLC YMCA in Damariscotta.

Twelve-year-old Zachary Farrin of Round Pond tore up the track last weekend to become the overall winner in the 85cc division of the MX 207 in Lyman. He also placed second overall in the Junior Mini division.

Cape Elizabeth defeated Medomak 24-7 in their first game of the state 9&10 Little League softball tournament, held on Foster Field in Waldoboro on Sunday. Biddeford defeated Medomak 9&10 softball all-stars 21-4 by four inning mercy ruling Sunday night to eliminate them from the state Little League playoffs.

Medomak 9&10 Little League softball all-stars won the District 2 championship Tuesday night, 9-7 over Five Town.

Swan Lake Grocery defeated Damariscotta Lions 10-4 on Tuesday to eliminate them from the Midcoast Babe Ruth playoffs. S. Perkins collected the win, and Chad Carter took the loss.
