Wiscasset Girls’ Soccer Team Picks Up Second Win
Wiscasset girls’ soccer team picked up their second win of the season Monday at Monmouth.
Alli Preble scored the game’s only goal on a pass from Haley Grant. Grant took the ball down the wing and passed through to Preble, who found net from a shot at the 18-yard mark.
Monmouth held a 13-12 advantage in shots. Abbie Austin made nine saves in net for the Lady Redskins to ear the shutout.

The University of Maine at Farmington men’s and women’s golf team recently completed its 2009 season with a third-place finish at the North Atlantic Conference Championships at Penobscot Valley Country Club in Orono on Oct. 12.

Local Playoff Schedule
The Busline League soccer championship games have been postponed from Sat., Oct. 24 to Mon., Oct. 26 in Rockland. The boys game will be played at 3:45 p.m., the co-ed championship at 5:15 p.m. and the girls championship at 7 p.m.
