Wiscasset’s baseball team defeated Georges Valley 8-2 in make-up action on April 29 to win their first game of the season. Starter Jay Lamoureux collected the win (5 2/3I, 3H, 9K,9B) and Cody Verrill (1 1/3I, 2H, 1K,1B) got the save. Both pitchers hit two run homeruns in the win. Alec Young took the loss for the Bucs.

Medomak baseball scored three runs in the bottom of the 6th to pull out a 6-5 win over Oak Hill on Friday. Dustin Osier and Chris Benedict combined on the mound (7K,6H,1B,1HP).

Medomak Valley’s baseball team notched their first win of the season on Friday, beating Leavitt 7-3. Taylor Williamson collected the win (5I,3H,3K,3B) and Isaac Durkee the save (2I,0R,2H,1B,3K).

LA Boys Tennis Undefeated
Friedland beat Cam Mitchell 6-0,6-1. Cam Blake topped Marcus Godin 6-2,6-4. Hamilton defeated Callum Thomas in three sets 6-0,3-6,6-1. Williams and Brandon Blake lost to Matt Lynch and Nico Schultz 4-6,3-6. Isaac Vesery and Daniel Mayer fell to Ben Roy and David Cook, 5-7,2-6.

LA Softball Ends 15-Year Curse
For the past 15 years, the Lady Black Bears of Maranacook have had Lincoln Academy’s number, including winning many games by one run. The last time the Lady Eagles beat the Bears was in 1995, when both teams played in the Mid-Maine Conference. Lincoln broke the curse on April 30 with a 5-4 win at Maranacook.

Lincoln Academy Boys Tennis Wins KVAC Championship
Lincoln Academy continued their boys’ tennis dynasty on Thurs., May 27 with a KVAC championship win over Gardiner. The Eagles only loss of the regular season came to Gardiner. Lincoln has won the KVAC crown four out of the last five years, and successfully defended their 2009 title Thursday.
