Lincoln Academy boys’ lacrosse coach George Workman was named KVAC Coach of the Year. Workman has coached at Lincoln for nine years, including as varsity coach for the past three years.

Lincoln Academy senior Kari Jones, of Nobleboro, collected her 12th varsity letter last week, no easy feat, considering they all came in team sports.

Medomak Valley’s softball team settled for the State Class B runner-up trophy for the second straight year. Fryeburg won the State Class B softball re-match with Medomak Valley on Saturday 2-1 in eight innings at St. Joseph’s College in Standish.

Lincoln Academy lost another coach this week, 20-year veteran Clyde Pendleton. Pendleton announced his retirement after the softball spring awards. He has coached varsity softball for eight years. He also coached girls’ basketball for 12 years including varsity for four years and JV for eight.

The Bobtails won the Waldoboro Little League softball championship on Saturday, beating the Diamondbacks 8-6. Walks and passed balls were the name of the game.

Medomak Valley softball coach Glenn Barbour was named KVAC Coach of the Year. The Lady Panthers finished their KVAC season with a 12-4 record.

Medomak Valley baseball picked up a pair of wins this week to improve their record to 8-7. The Panthers make-up their Rockland game on June 3 at Rockland.

Lincoln Academy baseball defeated Number 2 ranked Mt. Valley on Saturday, 7-5 to advance to the West Class B finals. The West B championship game against Greely will be held at St. Joseph’s College in Standish on Tues., June 16 at 3 p.m.
