Cobras and Bulldogs Bite the Lady Redskins
Wiscasset girls’ basketball team opened their MVC season with a pair of losses. Hall-Dale handed the Lady Redskins a 65-24 loss Monday night in Wiscasset. After a slow start, the Bulldogs offense rolled into high gear. Hall-Dale led 17-2 at the quarter, 30-16 at the half and 53-21 at the end of three. Wiscasset had 42 turnovers in the loss.

WHS Crush Cobras and Bulldogs
Wiscasset High School boys’ basketball team opened their Mt.Valley Conference season with a 69-41 win over Carrabec Friday night on the road. After a slow start, Wiscasset went on a 25-13 run in the second period to lead 38-23 at the half. The Redskins never relinquished the lead after the first period.

Panthers Handle Lions In Season Opener; Corral Mustangs
Medomak Valley boys’ basketball team opened their KVAC on the road at Belfast on Friday, and came home with a 57-43 win. The Panthers were in foul trouble all night, and had five players with two fouls each at the half. Compounding Medomak’s foul trouble, Alex MacKenzie drew a technical foul and sat out the fourth quarter.
County Deer Tag Totals Slightly Higher Than 2007’s Record Low
It was another dismal year for Lincoln County deer hunters. There were 533 deer tagged at county tagging stations, slightly higher than 2007’s low of 521.
