Lincoln Academy’s girls’ 200-freestyle relay won the KVAC championship on Feb. 6 at the Bath YMCA in a school record-breaking time of 1:57.03.

Four Lincoln County wrestlers finished their respective seasons with strong performances in the State Girls Wrestling Championships in Farmington today.

Wiscasset High School boys’ basketball team wrapped up their MVC season with a 58-47 win over Winthrop Friday night.

Wiscasset jumped on Winthrop early in a Western Maine Class C quarterfinal match-up at the Augusta Civic Center Monday night. Wiscasset dominated the boards (39-23) and held a double-digit lead from the first period, in a game never contested by the Ramblers. Wiscasset led 17-6 at the quarter, 32-16 at the half, 44-29 at the end of three, before going on to win 60-38.

Medomak Valley junior Steven Genthner placed third in the 145-pound weight class, Lincoln Academy junior Derek Juchnik placed third at 135 pounds, and LA senior Jesse Morkeski placed fourth at 189 pounds in the State Class B wrestling championships on Feb. 7 at the Augusta Civic Center.

Medomak Valley boys’ basketball team crushed Erskine Academy 47-28 on Feb. 11 in East Class B preliminary action at Medomak. The win earns the Panthers a berth in the East B tournament at the Bangor Auditorium. The Panthers out rebounded the Eagles 37-18 in the win.

The Medomak Valley Lady Panthers and the Lincoln Academy Eagles both opened their regional basketball tournaments with a win tonight.

Two Medomak Valley wrestlers, Ben Lufkin (112) and Steven Genthner (145) placed fourth in the combined Class A and Class B KVAC wrestling championships, held at Cony High School in Augusta on Saturday.

Medomak Valley girls’ track placed third out of 10 teams and the boys fourth out of eight teams in a KVAC meet at Brunswick this week.

Medomak Valley High School Lady Panthers played Waterville, MCI, and Oak Hill in basketball action.

Medomak Valley cheerleaders fell on a stunt, in an otherwise flawless routine in Bangor at the Eastern Maine Class B cheering championships on Saturday.
