“Hey Ho the Holly!” an annual celebration of Yuletide music in the folk tradition will be presented Sunday, Dec. 18, at 2 p.m., at the St. Andrew’s Church on 11 Glidden St., in Newcastle.
Admission to the concert is by suggested donation of $10 at the door (Families pay what you can). All proceeds will benefit Heifer International, an organization which helps provide livestock and agricultural training for people in need throughout the world.

Playing a mixture of music ranging from country and folk to Christmas songs and carols that inspire sing-a-longs, the Rusty Hinges was well received when they played during the church’s Friday night concert series this past summer year, held to raise funds to benefit the church and its community goal of reinstalling the church bell tower.
The concert is open to all ages. Refreshments will be offered at intermission. Free will donations will be welcomed, part of which will go toward helping the campaign initiated last fall for the tower and other repairs.
The New Harbor United Methodist Church is located at 8 Southside Road, New Harbor.

Santa will come to Waldoboro this Sunday evening, December 18th at 6PM. He will be escorted by a parade of fire trucks from the North Pole to downtown Waldoboro at the intersection of Main Street and Jefferson Street.
You will be able to visit with Santa and share Christmas wishes and all children will receive a bag of Christmas Candy, a gift from the Waldoboro firefighters.
Family of the fire department’s members will be on hand with cookies and Hot Chocolate to keep warm while waiting for your turn to speak with Santa.
Children may mail their letters to the North Pole all week at the same intersection, in Santa’s special mailbox.

This is the second of Coastal Rivers’ Winter Wanders series of guided hikes this winter. During these gentle walks, participants will learn some of the surprising things that take place under a protective layer of snow, practice identifying plants in winter, search for snow buntings and other winter migratory birds, search for animal tracks and signs, and enjoy the company of fellow nature enthusiasts.

The next Winter Wander will be a guided hike at Glidden Point Preserve in Newcastle on Saturday, Feb. 11.
