Quality is timeless. Just ask The Hot Sardines. In the talented hands of the New York-based ensemble, music first made famous decades ago comes alive through their brassy horn arrangements, rollicking piano melodies, and vocals from a chanteuse who transports listeners to a different era with the mere lilt of her voice. They’ve been called “Simply phenomenal” by The Times (London), while Forbes calls them “One of the best jazz bands in NY today.” Fueled by the belief that classic jazz feeds the heart and soul, THE HOT SARDINES are on a mission to make old sounds new again and prove that joyful music can bring people together in a disconnected world. The Hot Sardines have been featured at the Newport Jazz Festival and the Montreal Jazz
Festival, have sold out NYC venues from Joe’s Pub to Bowery Ballroom and more than 150 tour dates from Chicago to London. Don’t miss the chance to hear this jazz powerhouse! Sponsored by The Knickerbocker Group. Advance discount tickets $35, available only from the box office at 207-633-5159 (open Wed – Fri from 10-2). Regular tickets $40 online at boothbayoperahouse.com, and on the day of show if available.

Patty Griffin is among the most consequential singer-songwriters of her generation, a quintessentially American artist whose wide-ranging canon incisively explores the intimate moments and universal emotions that bind us together. Over the course of two decades, the 2x GRAMMY® Award winner – and 7x nominee – has crafted a remarkable body of work in progress that prompted the New York Times to hail her for “[writing] cameo-carved songs that create complete emotional portraits of specific people…[her] songs have independent lives that continue in your head when the music ends.” 2019 saw the acclaimed
release of the renowned artist’s GRAMMY® Award-winning 10th studio recording, PATTY GRIFFIN, available now via her own PGM Recordings label via Thirty Tigers. One of the most deeply personal recordings of Griffin’s remarkable two-decade career and first-ever eponymous LP, PATTY GRIFFIN made a top 5 debut on Billboard’s “Independent Albums” chart amidst unprecedented worldwide acclaim, and later, a prestigious GRAMMY® Award for “Best Folk Album.” In 2022, Griffin shared TAPE, a collection of rare demos and home recordings hailed by No Depression as “a thoughtful collection of found objects…Griffin’s fans will be quite glad to have these songs in any form for the light they shine on her brilliance.” In addition to her creative career, Griffin has also devoted considerable energy and focus toward the well-being of the planet as well as showing
compassion for the less fortunate among us via personal and public acts of charity. Having crafted a rich catalog that chronicles love and death, heartache and joy, connection and detachment, Patty Griffin continues to push her art forward, as always imbuing every effort with compassion and craft, uncanny perception, and ever-increasing ingenuity. Last year, Griffin was awarded the “Lifetime Achievement Award for Songwriting” by the Americana Music Association. Advance discount tickets $40, available only from the box office at 207-633-5159 (open Wed – Fri from 10-2). Regular tickets $50 online at boothbayoperahouse.com, and on the day of show if available.

Larry Bellorín hails from Monagas, Venezuela and is a legend of Llanera music. Joe Troop is from North Carolina and is a GRAMMY-nominated bluegrass and old time musician. Larry was forced into exile and is an asylum seeker in North Carolina. Joe, after a decade in South America, got stranded back in his stomping grounds in the pandemic. Larry worked construction to make ends meet. Joe’s acclaimed “latingrass” band Che Apalache was forced into hiatus, and he shifted into action working with asylum seeking migrants. Then Larry met Joe. Both men are versatile multi-instrumentalists and singer-songwriters on a mission to show that music has no borders. As a duo they perform a fusion of Venezuelan and Appalachian folk music on harp, banjo, cuatro, fiddle, maracas, guitar, upright bass, and whatever else they decide to throw in the van. The program they offer
features a distinct blend of their musical inheritances and traditions as well as storytelling – join us tonight. Advance discount tickets $25, available only from the box office at 207-633-5159 (open Wed – Fri from 10-2). Regular tickets $30 online at boothbayoperahouse.com, and on the day of show if available.
