Author Talk
Wednesday, September 28, 2016
5:00 PM
Please join us to hear Maine Author Ron Chase discuss his new book, The Great Mars Hill Bank Robbery, the true story of one of Maine’s most colorful characters of the last half century.
On the evening of November 12, 1971, former Army Sergeant Bernard Patterson, a much decorated Vietnam War hero, turned real-life version of Don Quixote, Butch Cassidy and Robin Hood all rolled into one implausible package, robbed the Northern National Bank in Mars Hill. Chase has written a biography of Bernard’s adventure filled, controversial life. Not only does it relate his heroic military experiences, the robbery and his subsequent riotous escapades, but it details his struggles with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Books will be available for purchase and signing by the author. Light refreshments will be served.
