The next Ocean on Tap is Thursday, September 18th, 6pm, at Footbridge Brewery in Boothbay Harbor. PhD student Zachary Wagner of Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences will be sharing about the vast variety of animal plankton, their role in ecosystems beyond food, and how they affect our daily lives! There will be lots of cool microscopy images
and you’ll hear about his current research on these critters.

Ocean on Tap is an informal, ocean-centric speaker series organized by researchers from Bigelow Laboratory and hosted by Footbridge Brewery in Boothbay Harbor. Our goal is to bring people of the community together over the fascinating world of the ocean. At these events, speakers will share their corner of expertise in the ocean, and attendees are encouraged to ask questions.

Celebrate the World of Foreign Automobiles at Owls Head Transportation Museum’s Foreign Auto Rendezvous — September 20–21, 2025 Owls Head, ME — The beloved Foreign Auto Rendezvous, the Owls Head Transportation Museum’s annual salute to the beauty, craftsmanship, and history of foreign automobiles, returns on Saturday and Sunday, September 20–21, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day.

Making its highly anticipated return, this two-day event invites automotive enthusiasts, families, history buffs, and curious visitors from across Maine and beyond to explore a dazzling array of international imports—from rare classics to custom builds. Set against the magnificent backdrop of the museum’s historic runways, visitors can expect a full schedule of interactive fun and hands-on learning:

Exhibitor Car Show — Featuring a diverse collection of foreign classics, customs, and vehicles of special interest, all 20 years or
older. Exhibitors can pre-register for priority placement, plus enjoy free admission for themselves and one passenger

Science & Industry Center — Engage young minds with educational, science and technology activities.

Ground Vehicle Demos & Vintage Car Rides — Get up close with motion—both on the ground and behind the wheel in ride-along opportunities.

Open-Air Café, Gift Shop & Picnic Areas — Delight in outdoor dining and browsing in a picturesque setting.

Full Museum Access — Take advantage of free entry into all indoor exhibits to deepen appreciation of transportation history
Visitors can also enjoy antique aircraft demonstrations (weather permitting), and even purchase 20-minute scenic biplane rides for a truly unique sky-high experience.

Peek into the nooks and crannies of Castle Tucker on the final Behind Closed Doors tour of the season Saturday, September 27 from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Whether you are a first time or repeat visitor, there is something new to see on this leisurely in-depth tour that includes rooms not included on the general tour. This unique mansion is entirely authentic, filled with the original furnishings and decoration of the Tucker family who lived here for over 140 years.

Built in 1807, Castle Tucker was the dream home of Judge Silas Lee and his wife Tempe. The couple entertained often and enjoyed an elegant lifestyle in their new home. In 1858, Richard Tucker, Jr. and his young wife Mollie moved into the house, immediately turning it into a fashionable Victorian home for their family of five children, who went on to live extraordinary lives outside Wiscasset. Hear the stories of this talented and unusual family, passed down through personal letters saved by their granddaughter. Little was changed in the house after 1900, so visitors see the house as it was when the Tuckers lived here,
