Three times winner of the prestigious Echo Klassik Prize, the Alliage Quintet (4 saxophones with piano, from Cologne, Germany) is one of Europes’s most creative and successful saxophone ensembles. The group regualrly tours Europe and on occasion comes to the United States and Asia. The quintet’s core repetoire consists of well-know masterpieces of all epochs, cleverly arranged for the ensemble with exceptional sensitivity. The program for their 2017 US tour is “Dancing Paris” offering works by Bizet, Nagao, Poulenc and Bernstein. Tickets are $22 in Advance, and $27 on the day of the show.

A pasta supper and raffle in support of Wiscasset Elementary School swimming lessons will be held Friday, April 7. On the menu will be baked ziti with beef, smothered in cheese and homemade tomato sauce; homemade macaroni-and-cheese; spaghetti with butter; mixed salad greens; homemade bread; and dessert.
The price of the dinner is $5 per person or $20 per family of two adults and up to five children under age 18. Tickets will be available at the door. All proceeds will benefit the elementary swim program sponsored by Partners in Education.

The Morris Farm is hosting their third annual Farm and Fish Fair on Sunday, April 9, 2017 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The fair is open to the public and free to attend. Local producers from around the region will showcase their products, market their Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) or Fishery (CSF) programs, and talk at length about the importance of local agriculture and aquaculture. Snacks, beverages, and live music brought to you by Portland based acoustic band, Rough Sawn, will be available.
Local producers such as Wandering Root Farm, Tarbox Farm, Albee Farming, Barred Owl Creamery, Copper Tail Farm, Sheepscot General Farm and more will be in attendance. Some producers will have products available for sampling and purchasing.
