Magical Strings Announces Their New CD, Fairy Wind and Spring Tour Concerts from Maine to Virginia
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear the dynamic Celtic duo Magical Strings in Concert, described by the Washington Post as “sonically gorgeous.” They will carry you to sublime realms with ancient airs and their own unique compositions, have you “dancing” to lively jigs and reels and share stories and selections from their newest CD Fairy Wind. This exciting release captures the exuberant spirit of their journeys to Ireland and beyond. Philip and Pam Boulding who have toured worldwide for over 38 years, recorded 21 albums will perform on their own hand-crafted Celtic harps and hammered dulcimers along with whistles, concertina and more.
Some of the harps on which Philip performs will be available for sale to an interested member of the audience. Philip will be happy to schedule a lesson after the concert.

The Lincoln Home is pleased to offer a free 20-hour course, Giving Excellent Care in the Home, for informal caregivers who have experience in-home care giving, but who are not certified as a PSS or a CNA in the state of Maine.
This course focuses on practical skills necessary to safely and skillfully provide personalized, high quality care by applying a solid base of practical knowledge on which to build confident care-giving.
Completion of the class will not result in a state-approved certification. If you already have experience caring for someone, it will definitely prepare you for working with a non-medical provider of in-home personal services. Call to register, space is limited!

Class runs on Tuesdays for five weeks, beginning Tuesday, April 11, 2017.

Miles & St. Andrews Home Health & Hospice’s grief support group meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 2 p.m. in Damariscotta. Coping with loss is discussed in a supportive and confidential environment, facilitated by trained volunteers who receive supervision from experienced clinicians. Miles & St. Andrews Home Health & Hospice group facilitators understand that each person’s reaction to grief is unique. Topics of discussion and sharing during their meetings include dealing with loneliness, understanding the grieving process, adjusting to life without the loved one, and learning how others and dealing with their challenges.
In addition to providing grief and bereavement services, Miles & St. Andrews Home Health & Hospice offers a comprehensive range of Home Health & Hospice services from companionship to highly-skilled nursing and therapy in homes and facilities throughout Midcoast Maine. Their grief support groups are free of charge, however, registration is required.

Oxbow’s second annual all ages egg hunt will raise funds for the Maine Children’s Cancer Program. Registration is at noon and the hunt will be held at 1PM. There is a free shuttle service from free parking at St. Patrick’s Church in Newcastle starting at 11:30 and running every 10 minutes until 5 PM.
In addition to eggs filled with treats (peanut-free), there will be 2 golden eggs hidden. Each golden egg will include a prize for an adult and a child. Children’s prizes are goodie baskets and adult prizes are a $25 gift certificate to Oxbow and a gift certificate for a free flight of Oxbow beers.
Uproot Pie Co. will be selling wood fired pizza. Adult and children snacks and drinks will also be available.
