Dr. Diane Kurtzberg Vaughan, 75, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2019 at her winter home in Stamford, Conn. after a long-fought brave battle with lung cancer. Diane was born on Nov. 10, 1943 in Brooklyn, N.Y., beloved daughter of the late Jean and Morris Kurtzberg.

A celebration of life for Randy Hagar, who passed away on Dec. 6, 2018, will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at the Duck Puddle Campground in Nobleboro. Tony Gallace, of the Feed the Need program, is restoring the Otis Benner Farm & Forgery on Route 1 in Waldoboro, between the Medomak Veterinary office and Harvest Moon. Recently the windows in the old farmhouse were shot out, along with one window in his car.

Newcastle Museum to Open July 6

The Newcastle Historical Society museum will open for its summer activities on Saturday, July 6. Hours, each Saturday, during the months of July and August, will be from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. There is no entrance fee. All interested people are invited to meet with the society and see the many treasures.
