GSB Second-Graders go to FARMS Kitchen
On Thursday, Oct. 25, Mary Hanna’s second grade class from Great Salt Bay Community School in Damariscotta went to the FARMS Kitchen at the Central Lincoln County YMCA. They were the third class to visit and learn about Native American food from Ms. Kleinkopf and Mrs. Miller. They used ingredients that Native Americans in this area might have used, like cornmeal, rice, blueberries, and pumpkin.

Whitefield Hall Receives Heating Efficiency Grant
Thanks to a grant from the Maine Community Foundation, a historic Whitefield building will be heated more efficiently when cold weather strikes. Judy Maldovan, president and treasurer of the Kings Mills Union Hall Association, recently learned the group would be receiving $3,200. The grant will be used to replace an existing furnace and ductwork with two propane heaters to improve heating efficiency, safety, and public use of the building without detracting from its historic character or architectural integrity.
