I went to the recent open house at The Lincoln County News. It was well-attended and I enjoyed our trip through the steps of printing our paper. I have been writing historical articles since 1998 and it occurred to me that I had never written on what was one of our largest industries in the town. I feel it is time I changed that.

Last Chance to Buy Old Bristol Garden Club Raffle Tickets
The Old Bristol Garden Club is holding the third annual Choose Your Prize raffle. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20. The drawing will be held on Thursday, Sept. 13 at The 1812 Farm, during the club’s annual meeting. It is not necessary to be present to win. Entrants are asked to mark their tickets with the desired prize. Prizes must be picked up locally or can be shipped if the winner is willing to cover the shipping cost.
