Karin M. Crawford, 88, of Edgecomb, passed away peacefully at her home on the morning of Aug. 14. Born in Stockholm, Sweden on Oct. 13, 1929, she was the only child of the late Alfred and Verna Carlson.

Bristol Lions Golf Tournament Prize is New Jeep Cherokee

Bristol Masons Seek Donations for Yard Sale
The Bristol Masonic Lodge will hold a yard sale on Saturday, Aug. 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The lodge is soliciting donations of saleable items in support of this efforts. All proceeds from the yard sale will be directed to the Masonic Scholarship Fund, the Masonic Charitable Fund, and community service as needs arise.
Beachcombers’ Rest Nature Center Has Final Days for Season

Klein and Spencer’s Fresh Approach to Painting at Pemaquid Art Gallery
Among the 32 artists showing at Pemaquid Art Gallery this year are two whose works define the term “fresh.” Both Barbara Klein and Cindy Spencer exploit strong color and simplicity to render images that often hint at a story behind the scene. To quote Klein, visitors are encouraged “to bring their own impressions and memories” to their viewing experience.
Schilke Art at Waldoboro Public Library
Robert W. Schilke is August’s artist at the Waldoboro Public Library with his waterscapes and landscapes gracing the main hall. Schilke’s watercolor style is unique in that he builds watercolors, like in oil painting, to create realistic tones, colors, and detail. His ability to recreate the actual color of the Caribbean Sea is a trademark. Some of his realistic creations look like photographs.

Whitefield Elementary School 2018-2019 Bus Schedule
The first student day at Whitefield Elementary School will be Tuesday, Aug. 28. Please be aware that all times are approximate. Please allow a 10-minute window on either side of the times listed. When students arrive home at the end of the school day, please be sure that an adult is present at the bus stop to receive children in grades pre-K through grade three. Bus drivers will return students to school if an adult is not present and parents will be called to come to school to pick the child up.

Major General Donald E. Edwards died peacefully on Aug. 16 in South Bristol. He was born on June 15, 1937 in Bellows Falls, Vt. to Ralph and Anne Edwards.
