Announcing the 2018 Season at Kefauver

The Kefauver Studio & Gallery in Damariscotta announces a busy 2018 season. Gallery owner Will Kefauver will produce seven art shows featuring his latest work and the work of his guest artists. As a member of the Bristol Road Galleries group of artists, Kefauver will present a “Garden Day” event on Saturday, Aug. 4, with guest artists painting en plein air in the gardens behind the gallery. In addition, Kefauver will teach painting in oil or acrylics to adults and teens. 

‘Andrea Peters and Christine Peters: Awakenings’ Show

Beginning Thursday, May 10, Gleason Fine Art, at 31 Townsend Ave. in Boothbay Harbor, opens its new spring show: “Andrea Peters and Christine Peters: Awakenings.” The show will run through Tuesday, June 12, with a reception for both artists on Saturday, May 26, on Memorial Day weekend, from 5-7 p.m. As always, the public is invited to join in for a glass of wine and the chance to meet Andrea Peters and Christine Peters.

Edna Mabel Nelson April 21, 1922-January 26, 2018

Edna Mabel Nelson, 95, passed away on Jan. 26 at the Pillsbury Manor in South Burlington, Vt.  She was born April 21, 1922 in Union, daughter of Marion and Mabel (Ross) Smith.  She was employed at Backus Hospital, Norwich, Conn.  Upon her retirement in 1986 she moved to the family homestead at Clarey Hill Road, Union.

A graveside service will be held for Arlene Ross, who passed away on Jan. 5, at the East Union Cemetery in Union at 11 a.m., Fri., May 11. Halls of Waldoboro has care of the arrangements.

Boothbay Harbor Man Gets Almost Four Years for Gun Crime

U.S. Attorney Halsey B. Frank announced that Michael L. Brewer, 62, of Boothbay Harbor, was sentenced Wednesday, May 2 in U.S. District Court by Judge Jon D. Levy to three years and 11 months in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Gloria Gamage July 8, 1934 - May 3, 2018

Gloria Gamage, 83, of South Bristol, passed away on the afternoon of May 3 at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta. Born in South Bristol on July 8, 1934, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Hazel (Plummer) Chipman.

Frank E. Jones Sr. Service Announcement

A graveside service for Frank E. Jones Sr., who passed away on Jan. 2, will be held at 11 a.m., Sat., May 19 at the Marr Cemetery, Razorville Rd., Washington. Following the graveside service for Frank there will be a cookout to continue the memories of Frank at the home of Jimmy Jones, 188 Youngs Hill Rd., Washington.
