Walkers can now ponder classic poetry on a stroll through the woods, thanks to Lincoln Academy librarians Cathi Howell and Jennifer Betts. Over the summer, the Lincoln Academy maintenance crew built and installed signposts and then Howell and Betts added the laminated pages of Robert Frost’s “Poetry for Young People” along the cross-country trails behind the LA baseball field.

Dean S. Ness, 91, a long-term resident of midcoast Maine, died on Sept. 2 at the Gregory Wing Facility of St. Andrews Village Retirement Community.

Local Community Rallies in Support of Pagurko Family

Ever since the Pagurko family escaped a house fire in Whitefield on Sept. 3, the local community has been responding to the family’s needs to help them move on from a tragedy that destroyed their 1850s farmhouse.

AppleFest to be Held Sept. 30

Nobleboro Historical Society’s annual AppleFest will be held on Saturday, Sept. 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Nobleboro Central School, at 194 Center St. in Nobleboro, and the Nobleboro Historical Center, 198 Center St., Nobleboro.
