Wiscasset Senior Aspires to Fly
All her young life, Lindsey Gordon, of Alna, has wanted to fly. Not just go up in a plane, but to take the controls of a craft and soar into the heavens. This fall, the Wiscasset Middle High School senior joined the Air Force Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps with the Lewiston High School-based Maine 891st. The 891st is commanded by retired Lt. Col. Mark Welborn, of Wiscasset.

Top ranked Yarmouth boys soccer team eliminated Lincoln Academy from the South B semi-finals Saturday night with an 8-0 shutout win over the Eagles. Eric LaBrie netted four goals for the Clippers, Jason Lainey added two and Anders Corey and Ben Norton one each. Sam Laemmle had 12 saves in net for the Eagles.
Lincoln Academy Boys Win State Cross-Country Championship Boys and Girls Win Sportsmanship Awards
The Lincoln Academy boys cross-country team won the state Class B championship on Saturday, Oct. 28 at Twin Brook Recreation in Cumberland. The Eagles packed five scoring runners into the top 21 to win by a landslide. Lincoln scored 56 points, while nearest competitors Freeport and Yarmouth scored 115 each.
