Free Fishing Weekend is June 1 and 2
This weekend is Maine’s free fishing weekend and the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife is encouraging everyone to get outside and enjoy a day fishing with family or friends on one of Maine’s many waters.

Ecumenical Diaper Bank Sets Annual Drive Goal at 13,000 Diapers
The Ecumenical Diaper Bank is beginning its fifth year of distributing diapers to low-income families. Again this year, Midcoast area churches will hold diaper drives from Mother’s Day, May 12, through Father’s Day, June 16. They hope to raise enough donations of funds and diapers with this annual drive to continue to supplement family supplies of diapers.
Flood Resilience, Hazard Mitigation on Tap for May 15 Event
On Wednesday, May 15 from 1-3 p.m., there will be a presentation of the Maine Flood Resilience Checklist by Abbie Sherwin of the Southern Maine Planning and Development Commission, followed by a presentation on hazard mitigation in Lincoln County by Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency and the Maine Emergency Management Agency. The event will take place at the Lincoln County Regional Planning Commission office, 297 Bath Road, Wiscasset.

Chris Roberts Named Lincoln Academy Alumnus of the Year
The Lincoln Academy Alumni Council is pleased to announce that Chris Roberts, Lincoln Academy Class of 1974, has been selected to receive the Alumnus of the Year Award on June 15 at the alumni banquet. First given in 1960, the award recognizes individuals with “a lifetime of significant accomplishments in the honoree’s profession and service to the larger community.”
Another Successful Year for Lincoln County Yard Sale
Hundreds of people visited the Central Lincoln County YMCA in Damariscotta to browse the plethora of yard sale treasures during the second annual Lincoln County Yard Sale on Saturday, April 27. The yard sale is a collaboration between the Y and Lincoln County Publishing Co. in Newcastle.
